When I posted last, I kind of expected maybe 10 – 15 replies. I got a lot more than that, and it was helpful. The Sagara book I’m working on now is the sequel to Shards of Glass.
The next book will be the next Cast novel.
I’ll let the other possible books cook in the background, because books need some cooking time for me. If I start a book from zero, it takes me far, far longer to find the book.
The reason I mentioned Nightshade in the context of the cohort is Annarion. So very much of Nightshade is wrapped up in Annarion — Annarion was, in many ways, his driving force. And Annarion is still upset with him, which is a bit ironic considering what the cohort had been planning before they met Kaylin.
But Annarion adored his older brother. Trusted him. Respected him. More Barrani siblings are like Sedarias’s than Annarion’s. Like many younger siblings whose older siblings are the source of respect & admiration, the disappointments are much larger than perhaps is entirely fair. And there are things that are entwined, as well, with The Lady. With the consort, who can survive calling Nightshade by his name, because of her very essential position. With the Barrani High Court and its constitution.
But I may be able to tell parts of that story within the main Cast books.
I am not the world’s slowest writer – but I can’t really write faster than I currently write. It’s just… so many different stories screaming for attention in Michelle’s writer-brain >.<
I’d love it if you could share whatever parts of Nightshade’s story you can in the main Cast books.
As to not being the slowest writer, well, we all know that! (Several fantasy authors spring to mind!) I love your writing: your world building and characters are second to none. If you, Patricia Briggs, and Ilona Andrews published a book every week, I still would want more. I truly appreciate anything you write and am very happy to wait.
