This is the full cover dust jacket for the hard­cover of Heir of Light. I would have posted it when I posted the paper­back full cover, but I just received it today, so I’m posting it now. The text should be the same on the cover flap as it is on the trade paper­back. And now I’m going back to the joy of copy-edit reviews for Wild Road >.<.

January and February have been chaotic, frenetic, and full of chaos and confu­sion. And snow. Which, given where I live, is normal, if hugely incon­ve­nient. And copy-edits, which make me pull my hair out. But: I have a full cover for the upcoming Heir of Light. And also: for reasons I’m not clear on, Mira is publishing a simul­ta­neous hard­cover release. I think it’s meant mostly for library purchase, but is being offered on Amazon and phys­ical retailers as well. (I person­ally would not want a hard­cover of the second book in a series when the first book didn’t have a hard­cover release, but that’s the biblio­phile in me.) I have finished Cast in Blood, the provi­sional title for the next CAST novel. It is 15k words too long, and the last few chap­ters were there­fore written in a state of height­ened anxiety as I also began to consider what I could cut. I’ve sent the book to the editor, regard­less, because I want the extra set of eyes and thoughts when it comes to losing the extra wordage. This is the first of two Barrani books, so some of the things that don’t directly impact this book’s story are neces­sary for the follow-on. The threads are left untied because it’s not the only book. I didn’t intend this, but it’s not the first time it’s happened.
