Welcome!

Posted in DAW, Queen of the Dead, Miscellaneous.

This is my new home on the web.

It has, among other things, a home page — which is largely meant for people who surf by and want information, rather than interaction. I couldn’t actually figure out how to transfer the blog subscriber list from the wordpress.com blog to this one, so if you want to continue to get email alerts when a new post goes up, you’ll need to subscribe here.

I have a new Facebook page — which is on the sidebar.

I have a Tumblr account which I’ve never really used, and I’m considering using it for questions & answers — as in, I’ll answer questions there if they’re asked. I’ll also continue to answer questions here.

I have a new email address: michelle@michellesagara.com.

And I have a new book, due on the first of May. The first chapter (well, prologue and the first two chapters) is available here: Silence preview.

Congrats on the great looking website. Will you post a little something to your blog over the next week or so to help those of us moving over the WordPress blog make sure we are connected? Love your blogs and would not want to miss anything:)

  2. js says:

Wow, I love the new website!

  3. Thunderchild says:

I like it and I’m practically the living definition of impartial.

  4. michelle says:

I did not notice that the comments required moderation if at least one previous comment hadn’t been approved >.. It’s fixed now, sorry!

  5. Joey says:

Congratulations! Why isn’t there a photo gallery where we can post, um, pictures we take of your books in the wild?

  6. Thomas Wiegand says:

Only twenty-nine pages? I thought a prologue and two chapters would be at least 100 pages. I look forward to getting the book and enjoying.

  7. Kel says:

    The new website looks wonderful!

(I’m mostly commenting to get back on the notification list, but it really does look great. : ) )

  8. Sora says:

    Lovely new site!!

Will you be having RSS from the new site as well? I currently follow via that method, and would like to update my reader accordingly… :)

  9. Paul Howard says:

    Looks good.

  10. mary allen says:

I am really waiting for both Cast in Peril and the next House War Book. Will the world press site go away?

  11. sarah says:

    Hi Sora,

Thanks for mentioning this — I didn’t notice the links for these feeds weren’t included anymore. I’ve added them in the sidebar now, so subscribe away! Let me know if you need more specific feeds and I can dig them up for you.

  12. cmchan says:

It looks wonderful, Michelle! Congratulations. I’m curious to know what Sarah used for this blog if it’s not WordPress.

  13. sarah says:

It’s WordPress! It’s a little customized though in terms of functionality.

  14. Rebecca says:

Love the new site. And I’m excited to see you on tumblr. I like the idea of a Q & A. I always love places where I can ask questions about my fav characters and writing processes.

    Rebecca

  15. Lara Beneshan says:

Your new website is looking great! Congrats on this page and the shiny new Facebook page as well!

I like the overall format, everything seems easy to find.

I also wanted to mention (along with many of your other fans) that unlike your editor, I am wildly happy to hear that there will be 2 more House War books instead of only one! I read very quickly, and so few authors publish weighty tomes that take me longer than a single day to read. =)

  16. Sora says:

Awesome!! Thank you so much! :D

  17. Reid Ellis says:

Nice! Love the font. Hard to select text on an iPad though — e.g. Your new email address. Maybe make it a link?

  18. ElizabethN says:

Really like the new site and the facebook page. Can’t quite figure out tumblr if you should use it for Q&A — keep getting “request denied.”

  19. Michael says:

Very nice! I admit that I am not as big a fan of the front page (I would rather it just open to your blog) but I can understand why that is an important feature.

Really looking forward to Silence! I suppose if I can’t have Battle (or War), then it is the next best thing!

  20. Michael says:

Oh, and I think there is a problem with the chapters of Silence you uploaded. Were you aware that it only goes to page 29? Clearly an oversight…

  21. hjbau says:

    Looks good. Happy writing.

  22. Genna Warner says:

Love the new look. Can’t wait to read Silence.

  23. michelle says:

Cast in Peril is a 25 September 2012 release, and the next House War book is a January 2013 release. The old wordpress site will not go away, but it won’t be updated. All of the posts made their have been transferred to the new site.

  24. michelle says:

As Sarah said, it’s a wordpress install, but I think “slightly” customized is a minor understatement.

And all of the work is hers; I believe I could teach myself how to set up html but I am in no way competent to handle any of the graphic design.

  25. michelle says:

It’s a link on the “About the Author” page, if that helps >.>

  26. michelle says:

I think it’s working now. Or at least I could ask myself questions anonymously, now.

  27. michelle says:

    :P

(I’m not a fan of front pages, but usually just bookmark/RSS blogs. But people who don’t actually want to read blog posts, but just want information, probably don’t find the blog page as immediately helpful.)

  28. HILDA D. RODRIGUEZ says:

Like your new website. I’m not very apt with these websites. I found going through Word Press very easy to find information. Need to explore it fully to find the way around.

  29. Estara says:

Hah, I didn’t see the preview of this before getting a notification about this post on GoodReads. So sometimes GR is really useful.

    Thanks for the excerpt!

  30. Ralph Walker says:

Love the look of this new site. It seems to be a lot easier on my eyes (literally and figuratively). I see that your Live Journal is still up and a link is provided here. However, it hasn’t been updated since, forever. Will you eventually be taking it down? Just wondering if I can delete another bookmark. :)
My local B & N has failed me on Silence. I still do not have it. .
