TOUCH release day

In theory, release day for Touch was the 7th of January.

I say in theory because this only applies if you are not North of the border. We still don’t have copies at the store.

But!

9780756408008_p0_v1_s260x420The book has begun to make its appear­ances on book­shelves in the wild! So I am posting this a little bit late >.>.

Touch is avail­able. I’ve added links for the audio­book and the ebook (the inac­tive links are Kobo and Google, but I’m certain it will prop­a­gate out to both). In a week or so, I’ll post a more active spoiler thread — but this isn’t it :).

Someone on face­book (whose name is Joey) posted pictures of Touch. I actu­ally haven’t seen the finished book yet (I may have mentioned that it hasn’t arrived in the store; I believe this is because it hasn’t arrived in Canada yet, and I get my author’s copies from the Cana­dian ware­house), so this is tech­ni­cally a first siting for me, as well.

(Yes, I made one post already today — but then I real­ized that I had missed Touch’s book day in the anxiety about the fate of my computer.)

    Posted on the Touch preview, but I managed to get a copy yesterday and absolutely loved it! Looking forward to rereading it after work today.

    I under­stood that Touch was suppos­edly released yesterday. I asked Amazon for 2 days delivery and was expecting it tomorrow. Well surprise: it came today with other books that I had ordered to be deliv­ered later. 6 of them in a small box.This was a very nice, very unex­pected surprise!
    Guess which one I’m going to read first. Amazon is doing very well consid­ering how bad they were in some previous Sagara/West book releases; they had the readers very angry. Michelle, thanks for such good books.

    Received my copy from Amazon UK today and read it in one sitting. I loved it. It was worth waiting for. Thank you for such a lovely, emotional read. Looking forward to reading the next Cast book now.

    And thank you for reading (and loving it). I have to admit that I am slightly anxious about this partic­ular book because it was so diffi­cult to write — and part of the way I feel about it is mired in the process at this point >.).

    City of Night is almost ready and should join it soon. I intend to do all of them, and to have them all avail­able (in English, though, because I am not compe­tent in any other language) before Oracle is released.

    And then, to release Oracle in ebook at the same time as it’s avail­able from DAW in the North Amer­ican market.

    And then I’ll work on Silence, Touch and Grave — with the hope that I can get Grave out at the same time as the NA version.

    I have to say, though, that people who feel this conver­sion takes no work are clearly more compe­tent than I am.

    I can imagine a book that caused stress during its creation would like­wise be stressful during its release, but I thor­oughly enjoyed it and I’ve gotten slightly picky with YA books since so many of them are a bit of a disap­point­ment. Touch was like a breath of fresh air and I was so happy to have the chance to read it. So thank you again for writing it :)

    Just to let everyone (in Canada) know, the big chain now has copies in its stores — at least, the one in my town had a pair this morning.

    I’ve been looking for it on Kobo every few days, and it hasn’t shown up yet, two-and-a-half weeks after publi­ca­tion day. Should I prac­tise my patience a bit longer, or is this long enough to guess that someone at the publisher forgot to tick the ‘avail­able to buy in the rest of the world’-box at distri­b­u­tion, or forgot to send it to Kobo, and send them an e‑mail?
    If so, do you happen to have a name or an e‑mail address for the publisher, where I could send my question?

    Hi Michelle!
    I finished “Touch” — I read it yesterday — and I wanted you to know that I liked it. I think I enjoyed it more than “Silence,” and I can see why this one was so hard for you to write. I found many things quite compelling, and I think the last sixty to eighty pages, espe­cially, were very effective.

    You know I prefer your West and Cast novels, but I enjoyed this one, and I wanted you to know.
